Eli Manning plays for the NJ/NY Gotham FC National Women's Soccer League.
"This league and this team, she's practicing 15 minutes from my house. They're playing a game here in New Jersey," Manning said. “I wanted to support them and also had the idea of taking my kids to practices and games. It's a way to find out.You put them in different things and want them to find what they're passionate about.It creates great life lessons, work ethic, teamwork, dedication, dedication, etc.
“I had to grow up a little bit around the Saints with my father [Archie] and meet some of those players and be able to respect them. It's great to have something fun to participate in to be a part of and my children can enjoy the experience as well."
Manning dabbled in soccer as a boy. "I played soccer until fourth grade," he said. "When I was in fifth grade, I had to choose between soccer and basketball. I was the tallest kid, not the best soccer player, so I chose basketball."
Now he'll be hooked on soccer.
"The message to Gotham FC is, 'Hey, check us out,'" said Manning. “These girls are great athletes. 35}
