(CNN)Six people were shot dead early Tuesday morning near Methodist North Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, hospital and law enforcement said. agency officials said.

At a nearby apartment complex, police said they found a white SUV with part of the gas pump still hanging from the gas tank and bullet holes. The car had been reported missing from the town of Collierville, about 30 minutes away.
Officers arrived at Methodist North Hospital at approximately 12:47 a.m., and six gunshot victims arrived at the emergency room, according to police. A gunshot vehicle was found nearby, police said.
Investigators said Reginald Felix, 19, along with his two children, ages 16 and 17, were killed in a stolen white SUV on Tuesday. Early in the morning, I determined that the shot had been fired near Raleigh Lagrange Road. Gunshots were first heard that night, according to police reports.
A fourth victim was attacked at the site and taken to hospital in a private vehicle, officials added.
A 14-year-old and his 25-year-old man drove Felix and his two teens from the apartment complex where the SUV was found to the hospital. Police said he was shot on the way by an "unknown suspect".
His five injured victims ditched their cars and ran to the hospital, police added.
According to police, Felix was one of those discharged from the hospital where he was charged with property theft of $10,000 to $60,000. Felix remained in custody on Tuesday afternoon, according to Shelby County Jail records. It is unknown whether he has a lawyer.
Also discharged from the hospital, the 16-year-old was taken to juvenile court and was also charged with theft of property from $10,000 to $60,000. A 17-year-old boy, who is still undergoing treatment, remains in custody and will be charged with the same charges, police said.
Authorities did not know whether the suspect and victim knew each other, police said, adding that an investigation was ongoing.
Memphis' Methodist Health Care said in a statement that no hospital personnel were injured in the shooting.
At the hospital, employees directed patients from the emergency department waiting room while the medical facility's security team and Memphis police responded to the shooting, it said. The patient was treated and taken to the One Health hospital in the area and the Le Bonheur hospital.
