Nurse shark attacked 8-year-old British boy on vacation family in the Bahamas reportedly said the boy's father looked like a scene from the movie "Jaws."
Finley Downer had both his legs bitten by at least three of his nurse sharks.It was his father,, Michael told the Sun after seeing a shark swimming among a crowd of people. However, the children were reportedly unaware that the sharks were being fed with scraps of food when they entered the water.
"There was too much blood," Michael told the outlet. His 12-year-old sister grabbed Finley by the arm and managed to drag him out of the lagoon, the report said. He was taken to hospital for treatment and underwent a three-hour operation.
"My son could have been killed," said Michael. "It looked like a scene out of Jaws."
However, tour operator Exuma Escapes told the outlet that the family went to the tour's unused lagoon without a guide. 43}
Finley and his family returned to their home in the English town of Kettering. The boy had to use a wheelchair and is expected to have permanent scars on his leg, the report said.
National According to his geographic, nurse sharks are seafloor-dwelling creatures that move slowly and usually do not pose a threat to humans. However, sharks are known to bite humans with strong jaws filled with thousands of serrated teeth for defense.
