Morty returned on Sunday, September 4th, andAdult Swim released a quick teaser for Season 6 at the Adult Swim Festival 2022 weekend.
In the teaser, a mysterious alien egg appears in the center of the Citadel's laboratory. Shortly after the clip starts, it looks like the lab is under attack or wreaking havoc as what's inside the egg hatches. (also featuring eggs) was released. You can see this below.
After season 5 seemed to wipe out the show's multiverse forever, series co-creator Justin Roiland said season 6 would be "a little more canonical." says.
The Citadel was probably destroyed at the end of Season 5, so this teaser gives us a glimpse of what's in store for his animated duo. Does this mean that what seemed like the destruction of the central finite curve wasn't the end of the show's multiverse concept? It hasn't been decided yet, so we'll have to wait until September 4th.
