Retiring Nick Faldo is in tears after 16 years as a CBS golf analyst.

Nick Faldo is about to go over the 18th hole.

The golfing legend turned to his CBS station and celebrated retirement Sunday after the final round of his championship at Wyndham.

His Faldo, 65, won six majors before Became his analyst for golf for 16 years. Hesurprisinglydecided to quit his broadcasting station job, citing his desire to concentrate on his own business. When

asked about his career in the final moments he put on the headset, Faldo tearfully said, "He blew it." 

"I was on a boat in Ireland. They called me and said, 'Would you like to sit next to Jim Nantz?' It was in 2006, 16 years later," Fuld said.

Faldo, who received the shield Saturday as the final stop of his career in Greensboro, North Carolina, also said his three broadcasts Kudos to the "brothers", Nantz and Ian. Baker Finch and Frank Nobilo – despite being an only child.

Legend said in his final remarks "We call them workers with affection and respect, but they put out pictures and we rattle. Our job is easy. Thank you guys."

The golf community came together to celebrate Faldo's time at the booth, with Trevor Immelman calling him a mentor and friend.

The PGA Tour also produced a compilation of Time as an Analyst to mark Faldo's retirement.

Immelman, the 2008 Masters champion, will replace Faldo next year, according to the Sports Business Journal.
