In north-central Mexico, on the same day that 13 suspected gang members were killed in a shootout, according to state police officials, four people killed one of the officers and a relative. They were caught burying him, officials said Friday.

San Luis Potosi state security agencysaid in a statement that clashes occurred Thursday night in the Vaqueros community of the city of Rayon.

Among the victims were 10 men and 3 women. Authorities did not report the injured state police.
