Scranton, Pennsylvania — Attorneys have targeted vulnerable clients and pressured them to have sex in exchange for legal affairs, Pennsylvania Attorney General said Monday.
Corey J. Kolcharno, after investigating and found to have sexually exploited clients, "as their lawyer for or in exchange for payments for sexual services from clients. After detaining his performance, he has been charged with four charges that promoted prostitution. Police wrote in his affidavit.
Former Lackawanna County prosecutor Corcharno was charged on Monday and released on $ 20,000 unsecured bail. A statement issued by his lawyer said Corcharno "made a conscious decision to accept responsibility." Corcharno told reporters that he intends to waive his legal license.
According to state police, Corcharno targeted women suffering from addiction, being sexually abused, or having financial problems. Investigators said they found hundreds of sexually explicit images of Corcharno's clients on their mobile phones.
Police said the crime occurred between 2018 and 2022 when Corcharno was a partner of Fanucci&Corcharno law firm on the outskirts of Scranton.
Prior to returning to his private practice, Corcharno was Assistant District Attorney for Lackawanna County from 2005 to 2011.
