Violent extremist rhetoric surges online after search for Mar-a-Lago

A man identified as Ricky Shiffer by two law enforcement sources was involved in a dispute with law enforcement after he allegedly attempted to break into the FBI's Cincinnati field office on Thursday. Hours before he died in a confrontation, Shiffer appeared to post: On former President Donald Trump's social media platform, TRUTH Social, he expressed his desire to kill a federal agent. 

This post has since been removed by the site's moderators, butappeared shortly after the FBI raided the former president's Mar-a-Lago mansion on Monday.

"If they attack, kill them," the suspect wrote. "Be American, not a steer."

These posts are from his Mar-a-Lag resort by the FBI. Phrases like "Civil War" and "Rock and Road" were trending on his Telegram channel, Gab, Reddit and his TheDonald, a popular forum among Trump supporters.
