NYPD officers seized 47 guns, arrested 57 over the weekend

The NYPD seized 47 guns and made 57 arrests in the city over the weekend. Among them are his 11 arrests, three of which he has gun charges, NYPD officials said Tuesday. 

"There are children and families playing in the park and a few feet away someone is carrying an illegal firearm," said Patrol Chief Jeffrey Madley, a reporter announcing the arrest. spoke at the conference.

His third offender he was referring to he is Octavous Fayton. 41 was arrested at 6:30 p.m. with his recent bust. On Sunday, he was in his park on East 216th Street and Bronx Boulevard Hylan, police said.

"This guy just wants to use one case as a microcosm," Madry said. "This is happening everywhere people are walking around with illegal firearms and they are in our communities and they are creating danger." 

Feyton said He was charged with six counts of traffic violations for possession of a weapon, reckless driving, driving without headlights, overly tinted windows, and other violations.

According to police, he has 11 unopened arrests, including three of his gun arrests. 

Fayton was previously arrested on February 18, 2020 for gun and criminal possession of a weapon he was charged with three counts, police said. 

He was charged on October 14, 2017 with his two counts of possession of a weapon and his one count of possession of stolen property. Stolen weapons, police said.

The Bronx District Attorney's Office did not immediately respond to an email seeking information about Feyton's recent arrest.
