NBA won't hold games on Election Day to encourage fans to vote

The NBA announced Monday that there will be no games on Election Day, Tuesday, November 8, to encourage fans, players and staff to go out and vote. .

All 30 teams will instead play the night before the election as part of what the league calls "Civic Engagement Night."

A tweet posted by the NBA Communications team said, "This date decision encourages the NBA family to promote nonpartisan civic engagement and encourage fans to plan to vote during the midterm elections."
