More human remains found in drought-hit Lake Mead

Human remains were found at Lake Mead a national recreation area east of Las Vegas, officials said Sunday.

It is the fourth time since May that the remains have been discovered, as drought in the West causes the coastline to recede in the shrinking Colorado River reservoir behind the Hoover Dam.

Park Service officials said the Clark County Coroner's Office said the , trying to determine when and how the person died.

On May 1,barrels containing human remains were found near Hemenway Harbour. Police believe the body belonged to a man who died from a gunshot wound and that the body was likely dumped in the mid-1970s to early 1980s.

Less than a week later, authorities announced that a human skeleton had been found in Calvil Bay.

Recently, the partial remains of were found in the Boulder Beach area on his 25th July.

The police speculate. As Lake Mead's water levels continue to drop, more artifacts are likely to be discovered.

These discoveries are related to long-unsolved missing persons and crimes dating back decades toorganized crime and early Las Vegas. It sparked speculation about the murder. 30 minutes drive from the lake.

Since the reservoir filled up in 1983, the lake level has dropped more than 170 feet.

Last week, the United Nations warned that Lake Mead and Powell water levels were at all-time lows and dangerously close to "deadpool conditions."  Such a condition means that the water level is so low that it cannot flow downstream to power the hydroelectric power plants. 

Last month  satellite images released by NASA showed  dramatic changes in Lake Mead. I was. Water levels have reached their lowest in over 85 years.

While the majority of peer-reviewed science says the world is warming, largely due to rising levels of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, lake levels is declining.

Scientists say the western United States, including the Colorado River Basin, has become warmer and drier over the past 30 years.
