Bill Gates revealed his involvement in promoting climate legislation in an interview with Bloomberg

Mike Lowe: Turning fossil fuels against you can really, really, really quickly create a whirlwind of unintended consequences. Many people seem convinced that the end will come in 12, 15, 20 years. I get it, but without proportion and without context. And when we talk about flipping the switch and getting rid of oil and gas and even coal, for that matter, we're exponentially hastening that Armageddon. China and India alone are building coal-fired power plants every week for the next 30 years. It doesn't change. Today, 30 billion people still burn wood and dung. If you want to bring them into the modern world, you're not going to do it with wind - you're not going to do it with solar power. You're not going to do that with Hydro. You might do it in the nucleus, but there are real problems with that.

We have to do it responsibly, and we have to deal with fossil fuels responsibly. But you can't just say no. Fossil fuels are the enemy. The era is over. In my view, it will hurt on every level imaginable. Alex Epstein wrote a wonderful book. In it he says Let's talk but let him at least understand that fossil fuels have saved more lives in the last 100 years than anyone really thinks... make us climate It's the fossil fuels that have protected us from and in so many ways. But it's hard to say it out loud today unless someone comes back to the net with enough topspin to call you a denier. Listen to the full show:
