Joy Behar kind words from co-host Whoopi Goldberg on today's episode ofBehar was caught off guard by Goldberg's compliment during a conversation about WNBA star Brittney Griner.
The View after the athlete was convicted in a Russian court and sentenced to nine years in prison,The View discussed her Griner lawsuit update. She was charged with drug smuggling after bringing cannabis oil into the country in her luggage.
Comparing the respective legal procedures of the United States and Russia, Goldberg said, "There always seem to be gaps in the legal system," and went on to say, "Ours is the because here we can say, 'That's not right', and we can go out and protest.
She quickly put her topic aside, turned to her co-host, and said, "Hey, Joy, you look good."
Behar asked. Goldberg repeated .
Before Goldberg could reply,Sunny Hostin could be heard praising Behar behind her.
Goldberg explained himself after Behar's reaction, simply telling her:
Even Sara Haines spoke up at that point, urging Behar to accept the kind words and move on. "I'm happy to say 'thank you,'" Haynes joked.
Goldberg added, "There was nothing I could do other than say you were cool."
Reluctantly, "Thank you, Whoopi." As Goldberg triumphantly replied, "You're welcome!" Behar shook his head and laughed as the audience cheered.
