Israeli and Palestinian militants reportedly reach ceasefire in Gaza

Israeli and Islamic jihadist militants in the Gaza Striphave killed dozens of Palestinians in three days of violence.

An Egyptian intelligence official who helped broker the ceasefire said the ceasefire would begin at 11:30 p.m. local time.

Fighting in Gaza was the worst since his 11-day war between Israel and Hamas last year.

Seven more people died in Gaza as Egyptian authorities moved toward a deal, bringing the Palestinian death toll to 36 since Israel's offensive began on Friday.

Among the dead were 11 children and 4 women. was The Palestinian Ministry of Health said more than 311 people had been injured since Friday.

Iran-backed Palestinian jihadist militant groups have responded by firing hundreds of rockets at Israel, turning the cross-border fighting into full-blown war. The risk of developing remains unless a ceasefire is achieved.

Israel says some of the dead were killed by rockets detonated by terrorist groups.
