Iowa man arrested for allegedly shooting sleeping wife with crossbow

An Iowa man was arrested Wednesday morning on suspicion of shooting his wife with a crossbow in the middle of the night while she was sleeping on the couch, Ottumwa police said. 

The victim, a 68-year-old woman, suffered minor injuries in the attack around 1:00 am and was taken to hospital for treatment.

George Edward Dennison (68) was charged with attempted murder and domestic abuse charges. The attack in question. He is being held in Wapelo County Jail on his $50,000 bail.
