Dodge discontinues muscle cars Charger and Challenger

Dodge to end production of Charger and Challenger sedans in 2023 as electric vehicles replace legendary muscle cars intend to do something.

Parent company Stellantis announced Monday that it will cease production of the Dodge Charger and Dodge Challenger in December 2023. To commemorate the vehicle, the company said it will feature the Dodge lineup next year. 7 special edition models with 'Last Call' plaque under the hood. 

Customers can choose between Demon, Hellcat, Redeye, Scat Pack, Shaker, Jailbreak and his seventh model to be unveiled at his November auto industry convention . 

Dutch-based automaker Sterantis said it plans to refocus the brand on electric vehicle products. 

"By remaining brand loyal, we are celebrating the end of an era and the beginning of a bright new electrified future," said Stellantis Dodge Brand CEO. Director Tim Kuniskis said: statement.

Stellantis also owns Jeep and Chrysler,  earlier this month said the following: In factories in Michigan, Indiana and Toronto, he will invest $99 million so workers there can start producing hybrid-electric engines. The company is also partnering with Samsung to build his $2.5 billion electric vehicle battery plant in Kokomo, Indiana. 

Dodge plans to announce details of its electric lineup this week, a spokesperson told his CBS MoneyWatch. 

Dodge he introduced the Charger in 1965 and the Challenger in 1969. Charger became known nationally as the orange-painted General Lee in the TV series The Dukes of Hazard. Dodge discontinued this car in his 1970s, briefly revived it in the 1980s, and then discontinued it again. Challenger has also appeared in TV shows and movies. 

The current version of the charger was released in 2005, and since then Dodge has manufactured 3 million of his units, the company says. 

His Charger and Challenger for model year 2023 come in 14 of his colors, including 'Sublime Green' and 'Plum Purple'. Vehicles are sold at select Dodge dealers. Dodge has yet to reveal the price of the car.
