Biden leaves the White House for the first time since contracting COVID-19

Washington — Recent COVID-19 Quarantine End, President Biden left the White House on Sunday for the first time since contracting the coronavirus last month, heading for a reunion with First Lady Jill Biden in his home state of Delaware.

The president tested negative on Saturday, paving the way out of a quarantine that has lasted longer than expected due to a virus flare-up. The White House on Sunday did not disclose whether the president had a second negative test and has not provided a new report from O'Connor since noon Saturday.

Biden tested positive on July 21 and began taking antiviral drugs Paxrovid. remained normal during infection, but symptoms included runny nose, cough, sore throat and body aches.

He continued to test positive until Saturday when he received his first negative result. The first lady remained in Delaware while the president was quarantined in the White House mansion.

The Bidens are scheduled to travel to Kentucky on Monday to check on flood damage and meet with family.
