Australian dating columnist Jana Hocking comes to New York to observe how Australian men deal with 'bastards' in their hometown Did. Here's what she found...

This week I packed, and went on an adventure to 'eat, pray, love'. I flew abroad to challenge myself.

About midnight a month ago, I started feeling restless and sleepless. Life was beginning to feel like a never-ending groundhog day. I had the same boring dates with guys who seemed to lack chemistry. My DMs mostly send me "hey" messages. snore.

So, with a little recklessness, I jumped out of bed, logged into a travel site, and booked a vacation to New York, London, and Mykonos.

Many years ago I packed my bags to go to New York for a weekend with my girlfriend who never looked back.

Something really stood out while there: New York guys have a gameAnd in a bad, f-k boy kind of way In a less engaging way, 'Hey, why don't you try it?

As I perused the store, I saw a very stereotypical New York guy catch the eye and boldly say to a charming salesclerk: bold.

She chuckles and the two continue flirting for several minutes. Before we exchanged numbers. Yes, I could have stayed longer.

Can you imagine what happened in Sydney? No, neither could I.

As we were walking down Eighth Avenue, a man opened the door to a Starbucks. Granted, these are small things, but I was in heaven.

Talking to the girls over brunch about my newfound love for men in New York, all three really had something to say about their bravery.

All three of my girlfriends, like me, agreed to give proper conduct to the Australian guys and be a little war-torn from their efforts. I came to New York City single.

One is now pregnant and engaged to a man she met in the lobby of the building, another is engaged to a doctor she met at Hinge, and another has several Having a hell of a good time burning up a guy and his girlfriend's phone.

So what are the specific reasons that make New York men stand out?

The answer is simple. confidence. As I watched these skilled creatures in their natural skyscraper habitat over the next few days, I noticed they seemed to have a particular fascination. , I packed my bags and flew abroad to take on the adventure of "eat, pray, love".

So what exactly makes New York men stand out?

The answer is simple. confidence. As I watched these skilled creatures in their natural skyscraper habitat over the next few days, I noticed they seemed to have a particular fascination. They all seem to agree on the theory that if you ask enough women out on dates, one of them will eventually say yes. Additionally, rather than barking about themselves, they actively participated in conversations and made eye contact, oh, eye contact.

Ask any woman and a man will tell you that he can act with appropriate confidence on a scale of 5 to 10. Seriously, how many times have you heard a girl say, "I wasn't that attracted to him, but he had this sexy confidence." Ladies and Gentlemen, remember your NYC brothers and bring a little bit of this confidence. And in the spirit of equality, I think we women should too.

Go outside and play properly in nature. If you're feeling a little nervous, take some advice from fellow Aristotle. they become more confident. i.e. "counterfeit it until you make it".
