The driver of a vehicle that hit a golf cart has been charged.
Four people were killed when a suspected drunk driver crashed into a golf cart in Texas.
Officers from the Galveston Police Department were dispatched to the scene at approximately 11:35 pm at the intersection of 33rd Street and Avenue R. An adult driver of a golf cart was found dead at the scene on Saturday, police said.
An adult female passenger and her two children were taken to the University of Texas Medical School in Galveston where they later died, police said.
Another adult and child in the golf cart were also taken to hospital in critical condition.
Investigators believe the driver of a black Hyundai SUV was driving east on Avenue R but did not stop. He then crashed into a golf cart heading north and a black Dodge pickup truck heading south, police said.

The suspect, Miguel Espinoza, 45, of Rosenberg, Texas, and a passenger in the Hyundai SUV suffered minor injuries and were treated and discharged from the hospital, police said.
According to police, Espinoza has been charged with four counts of drunken manslaughter. He is currently being held in the Galveston County Jail, according to online records.
According to police, the victims' identities were not released until next of kin were notified.
