Weightlifting teacher, 31, 'raped two women after meeting them at drunken Christmas party'

A weightlifting school teacher raped two women after meeting them at a boozy Christmas party in a gym, a court heard.

Jack Crosse, 31, is accused of 'riding roughshod' over the two women, both strangers to him, after meeting them on the dance floor of a gym in Pontypool, South Wales.

Guests noticed Crosse was a nuisance at the party which had a free bar for anyone with a ticket, a jury at Cardiff Crown Court heard.

The first victim was raped after giving consensual oral sex to maths teacher Crosse, the court was told.

The second was attacked and raped outside the building, the court was told.

Prosecutor Susan Ferrier said: 'Perhaps because of the alcohol, the defendant was noted to be behaving quite outrageously to women who were there.

'He was making sexual remarks towards them and being something of a bit of a nuisance.'

The first victim was raped after giving consensual oral sex to maths teacher Crosse, the court was told.

Ms Ferrier said: 'He was described as switching and becoming rough with her. He pulled down her trousers and pushed himself into her.

'She was telling him quite clearly she did not want this but he wasn't having any of it.'

Crosse started moving closely to the second woman on the dance floor of the gym, the court heard.

Ms Ferrier said: 'She noticed how tactile he was and he was touching her all over, including her bottom.

'The second attack happened outside the building when she was raped both vaginally and orally.'

Crosse told police that although the women were strangers, they both consented to the sexual acts.

Ms Ferrier said: 'The prosecution case is simple - the defendant rode roughshod over both of these women.

'He couldn't care less whether they were consenting or not because he was determined to have things his way - they were acts of rape.'

Crosse denies three charges of rape in the early hours of December 14, 2019.

The trial continues.
