Wanted criminal taunts police with 'catch me if you can' Facebook message below his mugshot

Wanted: Jordan Carr, 20, is wanted by Bedfordshire Police and has appeared to taunt the force on social media appeals

A wanted man has appeared to taunt police officers by commenting below his own mugshot and wanted poster 'catch me if you can'.

Jordan Carr, 20, is being hunted by Bedfordshire Police in connection with an incident in late January last year, but he appeared to use the appeal for information as a chance to cheekily challenge the force.

A Facebook profile under his name posted the five-word mockery, which has been liked more than 5,000 times since, with many users bemused by the 20-year-old's apparent audacity.

The mugshot and Facebook appeal describing him as approximately 6ft tall and sporting a 'Mum' tattoo on his hand didn't appear to deter Carr.

Carr was sentenced to a total of one year's detention in a Young Offender's Institution in August last year after admitting possession of a 'zombie knife' at Croydon Crown Court.

It is unclear why he is no longer behind bars but it is likely he served half his sentence behind bars before being released on licence. He is also wanted on recall to prison, Bedfordshire Police have said.

The audacious comment left on the same day the post was published has raked in more than 1,500 replies.

The brazen comment received a mix of online support and backlash since being published online, but the post is still live as the police confirmed they are still looking for Carr.

Andy Watson said: 'I don't know what you did Jordan but you deserve a pardon for your humour. Good luck.'

Jonny Gibbs joked: 'Bro if you need a place to hide more than welcome to hide here.'

David Joyce said: 'I believe he handed himself in for the reward... he said he'll do a ten stretch easy if he knows he's got £250 to get out to!!'

David Hartfield commented: 'Funny haha. You think you're a hard man and you will get caught. And [I] hope they put you away for a long time.'

Rohit Gami said: 'About as funny as an episode of Panorama.'

Bedfordshire Police's post reads: 'We are appealing for help in locating a wanted man.

The Facebook profile of the user who posted 'Catch me if you can' message to police's page

'Jordan Carr, 20, of Palmerston Road, London is wanted in connection with an incident in Kempston on January 29th 2020 and on recall to prison. Carr has links to the Bedford area.

'He is around six-foot-tall, of medium build with short afro hair. He has the word 'Mum' tattooed on his hand and a small scar in the middle of his right hand.'

Detective Constable David Gordon said: 'We're asking for the public's help in locating Carr, as we'd like to speak to him in connection with an incident in Kempston.

'If anyone knows of his whereabouts and is assisting him, you could be at risk of committing a criminal offence.

'Members of the public are asked to not approach him and instead call 101 if they see him or have any information on his whereabouts quoting reference number 40/AD/15893/20.'

Bedfordshire Police have been contacted for comment. They confirmed Carr is still outstanding.
