Twitter users left speechless by a receipt from Salt Bae's new London restaurant

A customer's receipt from Nusr-Et Steakhouse has gone viral on social media after totalling to a staggering £1,812.40 - with a single steak priced at £630 and just four Red Bulls costing £44.

The eye-watering bill from 'Salt Bae's' newly opened restaurant in London's Knightsbridge also shows the table of eight customers had a £236.40 service charge added to their spend.

Elsewhere, the customers paid £9 per glass of coke, £12 on four pieces of sweetcorn and £200 on a rack of lamb.

People have taken to Twitter to admit the prices on the viral receipt have discouraged them from visiting the restaurant, despite the opening having been highly anticipated since Nusret Gokce, also known as Salt Bae, went viral in 2017.

Twitter users have been reacting to the prices of items on the menu at Nusret Gokce's (pictured) newly opened restaurant in London's Knightsbridge

A user shared the receipt under the handle @jjamz_ with the caption: '44 great British pounds for four Red Bulls… having a laugh.'

The post has since racked up almost 10,000 likes with many people admitting they are shocked by the staggeringly high prices on the menu.

One person wrote: 'What the f*** is a golden burger? £100 is it the best burger in the world? And £630 for a steak? Lol I would have refused to pay and walked out... That's absolutely ridiculous £44 for Red Bull is also a nonsense'

Another said: 'I hope the rest of the cow was given to you in a goody bag! £630 for a steak'

A third added: '£9 for a coke. Bet the glass was short and thin and filled with ice to the brim. Lol'  'Why is baklava £22 lmao! I need to see that portion phew,' another wrote.

London diners will be able to get their hands on the 24-Carat gold Tomhawk steak, which has previously been a menu item in their Dubai branch (pictured)

Rumours of Salt Bae's London branch have been circulating since 2017. He wrote on Instagram this week: 'I was waiting very long time but finally dream come true'

A flood of responses to the receipt have questioned how the restaurant can justify charging £630 for a steak as well as £100 for a burger

Others were quick to comment on the £236.40 service charge, with one saying: 'It's the fact they have the nerve to add service charge after serving food and drink at 3 x the average price'

Another chimed in: 'Wow people are out here spending my entire bank balance in one night' A third said: 'The cheek to still charge service too! D*** that's a flight!'

'It's way cheaper to fly to Turkey and go to the original restaurant,' another joked.
