It doesn’t always pay to keep up with the Joneses – just ask Damon Albarn.

Blur singer Damon Albarm, 53, says FOMO (fear of missing out) made him splash an estimated £1million on a basement extension at his £6million Notting Hill home

‘Everybody else was doing it and I thought, “Well, if I don’t, then the value of the house…”’ he says.

The Gentleman Jack star, 43, admitted she was flattered when she seemed to be mistaken for someone under-age while trying to put the kirsch-soaked fruit through the till – and even posted a picture of herself pondering the encounter.

Turns out it was Suranne who was confused.

After checking her receipt an hour later, she remembered she had also bought her mother-in-law some gin – and realised that was why she was ID-checked!
