Partners and staff at Sports Direct’s former auditor Grant Thornton have volunteered to cut their hours and pay

Partners and staff at Sports Direct’s former auditor Grant Thornton have volunteered to cut their hours and pay as client fees fall due to coronavirus.

About 150 of its 4,500 UK staff have volunteered to reduce their hours and take a wage cut.

Chief executive Dave Dunckley also said partners had agreed to shave down the share of monthly profits they take in response.

The 190 partners pocketed an average profit share of £513,000 for the 18 months to December 31. One was paid £2.3million.
