Police hunt commuter who 'pulled down his pants to perform a sex act' on Melbourne train

A woman has allegedly been sexually assaulted at a Melbourne train station by a man who pulled down his pants and began performing a sex act on himself. 

Transit Crime Investigation Unit detectives in Victoria said the female victim was waiting at the Huntingdale Railway Station, in Melbourne's southeast, just after midnight on March 3 when the unknown man approached.

'He exposed himself and masturbated in front of the woman before walking onto the platform and boarding a Pakenham-bound train which investigators believe he may have exited at Noble Park or Dandenong,' police said.

The shocked passenger was sitting alone at the time of the alleged sexual assault on a step just outside the station.

Investigators have released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to. 

Police said: 'He is perceived to be Indian in appearance and was wearing a blue polo shirt, grey track pants and black shoes.'
