PICTURED: Darnell Solomon who shot dead ex-girlfriend Jened Duncan then killed himself in New York

The jealous man shot dead his former girlfriend and wounded her new boyfriend before killing himself on Sunday because 'he couldn't take' that she had moved on.

Gunman Darnell Solomon, 31, shot 24-year-old school teacher Jened Duncan in the head and her new partner Miguel McLawrence, 33, in the chest.

He then turned the gun on himself in New York City's third murder-suicide in a matter of just five days.

'The crazy one come and get her,' a woman who works at Color Me Beautiful salon, on the ground floor of the building said. 'Very talented young lady — she do her own thing. She broke up with her boyfriend and he couldn’t take it.'

Police outside the scene in Utica Ave in Brooklyn after the jealous ex shot dead his former girlfriend and wounded her new boyfriend before killing himself on Sunday

The former couple are said to have lived at the Brooklyn apartment where the shooting took place. It is not known when they split but it is understood Duncan was still living in the home.

A neighbor said police had been called to the Brooklyn apartment in a domestic violence report on Labor Day.

'They had fights in the house — you’d hear the thumps and so forth,' Blaze Anthonio told New York Daily News

A neighbor called police after hearing gunshots and seeing a man bleeding.

'I came outside and I see all this commotion, a vehicle there with bullets, and then I saw the police cutting off the area - it's disturbing to see all this,' a local named Greg told ABC 7

McLawrence was taken to Brookdale Hospital. His condition was stable. He is expected to survive, officials say.

Duncan and Solomon were discovered inside the apartment and were pronounced dead at Kings County Hospital.

Soloman was said to be visiting Duncan when he saw her new boyfriend and shot them both in rage. McLawrence (left) is still fighting for his life and is expected to survive

Duncan taught children in the nearby Bedford-Stuvesant neighborhood, according to her aunt. 'She used to study biology, but she switched over to education,' the relative told New York Daily News.

She described relatives in Grenada as 'distraught'.

'Her mother is back home. She keeps calling and calling ... I’m just trying to hold it together. Can’t do anything, can’t bring her back. She’s already gone,' the aunt continued.

An unnamed aunt added: 'I just gotta think positive because I have kids to live for, her sister lives with me.'

Duncan's uncle told The New York Post his wife was 'panicking' when she could not reach her niece, adding: 'She kept saying that she couldn't get in touch with her, that she wasn't picking up her phone calls.

'She was a good kid, a very good kid, never got in trouble. We're just trying to figure out why would somebody do this. It's just too painful.'

Police have not said if the y had been called regarding domestic disputes between the former couple prior to Sunday's shooting

The deaths mark the third murder-suicide involving couples in New York City in just days.

Dineshwar Budhidat, 33, is believed to have stabbed his bartender wife, Donne Dojoy, 27, to death Friday night in their Queens home, before going to a field in Howard Beach, New York, and hanging himself from a tree.

The couple had married in July. He was jealous of the crush she had on a Bollywood actor, friends say.

Two days earlier a man decapitated his wife, slit the throat of their five-year-old daughter and then took his own life by hanging, just hours after the woman tried to get an order of protection.

Officers found Yonathan Tedla, 46, Jennifer Schlecht, 42, and their five-year-old daughter, Abaynesh Schlecht Tedla, dead inside their Harlem home Wednesday.

Schlecht's heartbroken father, Kenneth Schlecht, 74, said his daughter's marriage was unraveling, and that his son-in-law had threatened to 'take them all out' if Jennifer tried to serve him with divorce papers.

Police say Yonathan Tedla (right), 46, beheaded his wife, Jennifer Schlecht (left), 42, and slit the throat of their five-year-old daughter, Abaynesh (center), before hanging himself

Dojoy (right) was said to have had an order of protection against Budhidat (left), stemming from an August incident in which he allegedly slapped and strangled her
