A woman has been charged with murder after allegedly stabbing her estranged ex-husband to death in front of his 10-year-old son outside their family home.
Police allege the ex-wife, 53, stabbed him repeatedly when he returned to his home in Newmarket in Brisbane's inner north-west about 7pm on Wednesday night.
Emergency crews were called to an address on Ward Street and the man, 51, was declared dead at the scene.
The woman was allegedly laying in wait for the man and ambushed him as he came home, according to 7News.
His son reportedly witnessed the alleged attack as he was sitting in a nearby car at the time.

The woman from Kangaroo Point was found at the scene and charged with one count of murder.
She was also charged with two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm and one count of going armed so as to cause fear.

She will appear at Brisbane Magistrates Court on Thursday.
'To come home, you know, and see a man stabbed on the street it's just horrific really,' neighbour Hugh Cochrane told the Today show.
'We live here and obviously we thought it was a safe neighbourhood.'
