Mystery surrounds tragic death of man at a Taco Bill Mexican restaurant in Melbourne

A man has died in a workplace incident at a Mexican restaurant.  

Emergency services attended the Taco Bill Restaurant on Princes Highway in Melbourne's southeast suburb of Pakenham about 6pm on Tuesday.

Police and the SES were at the Mexican restaurant overnight.

Police and the SES were reported to have stayed at the business until late in the evening

WorkSafe and Energy Safe Victoria are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatality, 7News reported.

The restaurant had announced on October 18 that it would be closed for renovations.

It was set to re-open on October 29 for take-away and dine in.

Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
