Moment two male school pupils attack PCSO in north London street

Two young yobs have been arrested after attacking an elderly PCSO in north London in shocking footage posted online.

The school pupils grabbed the greying man by his hi-vis vest and wrestled him to the ground opposite Ark Academy in Wembley yesterday.

The Met said the boys had been detained on suspicion of actual bodily harm and remained in custody.

A spokesman said the victim was not seriously injured and was being supported by his colleagues.

The clip began as the thugs held their victim by the lapels of his jacket outside a newsagents.

They yelled at him 'how you feeling bro' and 'come on then' as the elderly man pleaded with them.

The masked students continued to grapple with him before they launched him over an advertising board and slammed him on the pavement.

One of the attackers appeared to punch the old man and rip something out his hands while he was on the floor, but it is not clear if anything was stolen.

The cameraman then shouted 'oh he's getting smoked, fella's getting smoked' during the brawl.

The two yobs then fled down the street while a women helped the shaken PCSO to his feet.

The shocking video ended with the person recording shouting at him: 'Pick up your hat blood, pick up your hat.'

It was shared on social media yesterday after appearing to have been circulated by youths on Snapchat.

The Metropolitan Police said: 'At approximately 15:50hrs on Monday, 18 October a male PCSO on duty in Bridge Road, Wembley was assaulted by two males.

'The PCSO was not seriously injured and is being provided with welfare support by the Met.

'Two teenage males were subsequently arrested on suspicion of ABH and remain in custody. Enquiries into the circumstances continue.'

Ark Academy, which has 1,607 pupils, was rated 'outstanding' in its most recent Ofsted report.

It said: 'A great deal of work has brought about a new school that has quickly established high expectations and secured impressive progress in the short period since opening. Pupils make outstanding progress in their studies.' 

Headmistress Delia Smith says on its website: 'We have worked hard to clarify our expectations which are clearly stated in our Behaviour and Ethos Policy and the Home School Agreement.'
