Masked gang force Mercedes off road and attack driver with baseball bat before fleeing with cash 

A shocking video shows the moment a masked gang forced a Mercedes off the road. 

The masked gang, who were all wearing dark clothing and face coverings, then set upon the Mercedes with baseball bats in Tuebrook, Liverpool. 

Police believe they used force to stop the car before threatening the driver and demanding cash, LiverpoolEcho reported. 

The incident on Monday around 8.20pm left a 34-year-old man with injuries believed to be caused by a baseball bat, police said.

The force confirmed an investigation is underway following the incident. 

The video shows a black vehicle stopped next to a silver Mercedes at a junction, with the silver car's back wheels mounted on the curb. 

Its boot and rear door are open, while the gang can be seen climbing back into the car.

They start to drive away with the front door still open as another car enters the junction. 

The gang then set upon the silver Mercedes with baseball bats and police believe they used force to stop the car before threatening the driver and demanding cash

A spokesperson for MerseysidePolice told the publication: 'When patrols arrived at the scene they located a silver Mercedes car with damage to a window.

'Enquiries were carried out and the owner of the car, a 34 year-old man, was located and spoken to.  

'The man had been assaulted and suffered minor injuries which are believed to have been caused by a baseball bat.

'An investigation is underway and house-to-house and CCTV enquiries are currently underway.'
