Marjorie Taylor Greene accuses businesses who ban unvaccinated of segregation

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene accused an Atlanta gastropub of 'segregation' after it announced it would only provide in-person service to people who are vaccinated.

The pub announced the policy amid a spike in coronavirus cases - including after experiencing 'a few positive cases' amid the spike in the highly-transmissive Delta variant.

The Georgia Republican, who was kicked off her House committee assignments over past comments touting conspiracy theories about 9/11, accusing Nancy Pelosi of treason, and blaming lasers from space for California wildfires, compared the bar's policy to racial segregation in a Sunday post.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has attacked an Atlanta brew pub  after it posted a 'NO VAX, NO SERVICE' sign.  It says it experienced positive coronavirus hits this month

'This is called segregation,' she tweeted, attaching an image saying 'NO VAX, NO SERVICE.'

The lawmaker asked in a post to her more than 400,000 followers: 'Will you be testing everyone at the door for the flu, strep throat, stomach bugs, colds, meningitis, aids, venereal diseases, Hep A, Hep C, staff [sic] infections, athletes foot, pink eye, croup, bronchitis, ringworm, scabies, or any other contagions?'

The pub, located in a city with a prominent role in the Civil Rights movement, doesn't shy from its politics, publishing posts on 'Cuisine for a Cause' and other events.

On July 17, it wrote on its Facebook page: 'Unfortunately we have had some positive covid tests this weekend and will temporarily halt all indoor dining. Patio will be open along side takeout and delivery. Thanks for your continued support. This sucks.'

'If you are fully vaccinated, welcome!' the establishment wrote. But until vaccinated, 'please do not enter our establishment,' it said

Then, the East Atlanta Village establishment put the 'NO VAX, NO SERVICE' sign on its front door.

The move came amid bitter clashes nationwide over mask mandates, and litigation over private businesses who impose mandates on customers. The Biden Administration announced Monday that the Veterans Affairs department was requiring its doctors and health professionals to get vaccinating, after experiencing multiple deaths.

'We weren't setting out to offend anyone,' the bar's co-owner Armando Celentano told local radio station WAGA.

'We aren't by any stretch promoting mandatory vaccinations. We feel very strongly that this is no different from a no shirt, no shoes, no service policy.'

The lawmaker faced condemnation after she compared Speaker Nancy Pelosi's mask mandate for the House floor to the horrors of the Holocaust.

'You know, we can look back at a time in history where people were told to wear a gold star, and they were definitely treated like second class citizens, so much so that they were put in trains and taken to gas chambers in Nazi Germany,' Greene said. 'And this is exactly the type of abuse that Nancy Pelosi is talking about.'

She apologized in June for the comments and visited the Holocaust museum in Washington. She has also attacked infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci, although her clash with Pelosi has helped drive fundraising and her name recognition.

Georgia has been experiencing a spike in coronavirus cases among unvaccinated people. In the last two weeks, the state has seen an increase in cases of more than 200 percent.
