Katy Perry closes out Celebrating America livestreamed concert with epic Firework rendition

Katy Perry, John Legend, Demi Lovato, and Bruce Springsteen were among the many stars welcoming the Biden administration to the White House with the inauguration concert, Celebrating America.

Perry, 36, closed out the star-studded spectacle with a majestic rendition of her hit track Firework before the Washington Monument.

A dazzling display of red, white, and blue fireworks surrounded the obelisk as Perry sang the track, clad in a caped, patriotic dress.

As Perry sang, President Joe Biden, First Lady Jill Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and her husband Doug Emhoff watched on.

Demi Lovato performed a powerful rendition of the upbeat track Lovely Day from Los Angeles with a chorus of supporters - including healthcare workers - singing along virtually.

John Legend sang the empowering track Feeling Good before the Washington Monument.

Bundled up in a camel coat, the showbiz icon didn't let the cold weather stop him from putting on an incredible show.

Bruce Springsteen kicked off the show with a poignant track, Land Of Hope and Dreams.

'Good evening America, I'm proud to be in cold Washington, D.C. tonight,' he began. 'I want to offer this small prayer for our country, this is Land Of Open Dreams.'

Standing at the foot of the Lincoln Memorial, Bruce was bundled up in a black coat as he strummed his guitar to the touching song.

Tom Hanks, who hosted the special, reflected on the legacy of Inauguration Day as he opened the show from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.

'The last few weeks, and the last few years, we've witnessed deep divisions and a troubling rancor in our land. But tonight we ponder the United States of America. The practice of our democracy, the foundations of our republic, the integrity of our constitution, the hope and dreams we all share for a more perfect union,' he began.

Not only was the show packed with musical entertainment, but actresses Eva Longoria and Kerry Washington also made appearances.

Indeed, the special was not just a who's who of Hollywood stars, but also of political heavyweights, including former presidents Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and newly-sworn in Joe Biden.

Biden was sworn in as the 46th president of the United States on Wednesday, succeeding President Donald Trump.

Biden's running mate, Kamala Harris, made history becoming not just the first female Vice President, but also the first Black and South Asian woman to hold the office.
