John Boehner goes off script and says 'Ted Cruz, go f*** yourself' while recording the audio book

Former Speaker of the House John Boehner hasn't minced words while recording the audio version of his memoir, reportedly saying, 'Oh, and Ted Cruz, go f**k yourself.'

Boehner, who apparently has a pension for red wine, has been working on his book 'On The House: A Washington Memoir.'

The Ohioan took to Twitter to offer a forewarning to some of the brazen language that can be expected in the book, posting a photo that showed him deep in a glass of wine as he read from the book.

'Poured myself a glass of something nice to read my audiobook,' he said in the Thursday tweet. 'You can blame the wine for the expletives.'

Two sources familiar with the book told Axios about Boehner's asides in the book that it is expected to share 'colorful tales from the halls of power, the smoke-filled rooms around the halls of power and his fabled tour bus.'

'I can confirm there were some off-script moments during his recording of the audiobook,' Boehner spokesman David Schnittger said.

The Texas Republican has long been a target of Boehner's, who referred to Cruz as 'Lucifer in the flesh' during one of his first appearances after leaving the House in October 2015. Cruz pictured in Feb. 2021

'He pretty much just let it fly, as he did when he was working on the book itself. He's not really interested in being anything other than himself these days. That is kind of the spirit of the entire project.'
