Assistant Professor of Practice at University of Nebraska-Lincoln for the School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences Amy Walton, 35, had put her selfie stick on the kitchen table.

She did it so it would be out of 11-month-old Crash's reach. Or so she thought.

She said: 'We watched him crawl up a jacket that was draped over a chair and he got on top of the kitchen table.'

The footage begins as the animal grasps the end of the selfie stick between its teeth and pulls it along the floor

A bemused cat which is also in the room watches as the ferret begins its journey.

He then drops it and struggles to pick it back up again in its mouth before carrying it on and making it all the way to the bedroom.
