Gwyneth's VERY Goopy shopping guide for post-pandemic life

Gwyneth Paltrow is ready to jump into post-pandemic life — in just about the Goop-iest way possible, dressed in $495 pants and a $145 T-shirt, drinking out of $50 mugs, and relaxing on a $1,049 gemstone heat therapy mat.

The 48-year-old actress —who was diagnosed with COVID-19 at the start of the pandemic and has been battling some long-hauler symptoms — admitted in a new Goop shopping guide that she's 'experiencing a little spring fever over here' and can't wait to 'step (cautiously) out of the small bubbles we’ve confined ourselves to for over a year'.

But Gwyneth, of course, only ever steps anywhere in style, and to that end has unveiled a roundup of clothing, home goods, and spa essentials that she recommends for life after COVID.

Ready to go! Gwyneth Paltrow is ready to jump into post-pandemic life and has shared some of her top picks for a post-pandemic spring

Cozy: Though she is ready to wear pants again, 'they have to feel like sweatpants,' so she suggests $495 linen pants from her G. Label clothing collection

Casual: Her guide also includes this $145 white T-shirt from G. Label

Gwyneth's first two picks are from her G. Label clothing collection — and though they're designed to be as cozy as the loungewear many people have lived in this past year, they're hardly bargain finds.

'For an entire year, we’ve joked about never wearing pants or makeup again. Now I’m here to say I’m ready for pants,' she wrote.

'Of course, they have to feel like sweatpants, so I’ve bought two pairs of the Shiv Linen Pants, which feel like the roomiest sweats but look decidedly more pulled-together,' she said.

The $495 linen pants can go with a plain white T-shirt for $145.

Next, she recommends Goop Beauty's GoopGlow Glow Lotion for $52 a bottle, which she puts on every morning after she showers — and will wear nothing else if she's not shooting anything.

'Though I haven’t worn makeup much in the past year, I’m wearing even less now,' she said. 'I bring [the Glow Lotion] with me if I’ve got a shoot or a TV appearance.'

Her 16-year-old daughter, Apple, helped with the product development, and has even posed for photos and appeared in videos to promote it.

Showing it off: Gwyneth has promoted the new product on Instagram, and says it is often the only thing she wears all day

What IS 'intuitive fasting'?

Intuitive fasting is the combination of two dieting practices: intermittent fasting and intuitive eating.

Intuitive eating has been described as the 'opposite' of a traditional diet because it encourages people to feed themselves, rather than restricting.

Devotees are urged to eat whatever they're craving, while avoiding calorie counting and restriction of any kind.

Those who follow an intuitive eating plan are told to learn what their body wants; they should eat when they feel hungry, but learn to know when their body is full and satisfied.

A key principal of the practice is recognizing the difference between physical hunger - when the body needs food - and emotional hunger - the idea that you are eating to satiate an emotion.

Intermittent fasting means going without food for specific periods of time during the day; rather than focusing on what you eat, it places the emphasis on when you eat.

According to Johns Hopkins Medicine, intermittent fasting will encourage the body to 'exhaust sugar stores and burn fat' while helping to prevent unnecessary calorie intake.

Gwyneth goes on to talk food, explaining that she's been sticking to Dr. Will Cole's intuiting fasting plan — and suggests readers buy his book.

'What’s so powerful about Will’s approach is the way it helps your body develop what he calls metabolic flexibility, where, with a healthier gut and better balance overall, foods your body might normally have difficulty processing no longer cause the problems they normally would, so treats are actually a thing,' she said.

While Dr. Cole uses the title 'Dr.' and promotes ideas about health, he is not a graduate of medical school, but rather has a doctorate of chiropractic from Southern California University of Health Sciences, a private school that focuses on alternative medicine.

His book, 'Intuitive Fasting,' is the first book to be published by Goop Press as part of the lifestyle brand's new publishing partnership with Rodale Books, a division of Penguin Random House.

Gwyneth previously said she lost 11 pounds since she started Dr. Cole's intuitive fasting plan, which includes a week of bone broth.

She has also attributed a recovery from COVID long-hauler symptoms to the eating plan, in addition to vitamins and exercise.

Since these days she is feeling better — less brain fog and fatigue — she now treats herself occasional, and says she's excited to be able to have friends over for dinner again.

'After a year’s worth of Zoom being practically the only option, it’s exhilarating to find myself able to throw a dinner party for a small group of friends in the backyard,' she said.

To give her dinner parties an 'extra kick,' she likes Social Studies, which allows customers to rent an entire tabletop look, from the decor to the place settings.

Luxury sips: For dinner parties and other food-related enjoyment, Gwyneth likes Richard Brendon's hand-cut crystal shot glasses — $144 for a pair — and $50 handmade ceramic mugs

No low-class veggies here! Gwyneth said this $160 teak tray 'elevates even the simplest cut vegetables'

For rich food: She also promotes  a $270 French oven and a $360 round cocotte from Staub x Goop collaboration

Fancy flowers: As for decorations, the Shakespeare in Love star's suggests cherry blossoms in handmade ceramic vase — also by Roman and Williams Guild — which cost $98 each

Splurge! Finally, and most outrageously, Gwyneth finishes her list with HealthyLine's $1,049 Gemstone Heat Therapy Mat, which is made with amethyst, tourmaline, and jade gemstones

Joy by utensil: Gwyneth said this $24 stirring spoon 'just makes me happy'

Also for dinner parties and other food-related enjoyment, Gwyneth likes Richard Brendon's hand-cut crystal shot glasses — $144 for a pair — plus a $270 French oven and a $360 round cocotte from Staub x Goop collaboration.

Other favorites include a $160 teak platter, $50 handmade ceramic mugs, and $24 stirring spoons from Roman and Williams Guild.

'Everything they touch is artisanal, original, and just beautiful,' she said. 'Those Japanese mugs just make anything you drink out of feel (and taste) so special, the teak tray elevates even the simplest cut vegetables, and that Jipo spoon just makes me happy.'

As for decorations, the Shakespeare in Love star's suggests cherry blossoms in handmade ceramic vase — also by Roman and Williams Guild — which cost $98 each.

Finally, and most outrageously, Gwyneth finishes her list with HealthyLine's $1,049 Gemstone Heat Therapy Mat, which is made with amethyst, tourmaline, and jade gemstones.

'While it might sound terribly goopy of me,' Gwyneth admits, 'my ongoing obsession with this heated gemstone mat is definitely going to continue.

'Talk about great energy, no matter the time of year.'
