A 12-year-old Philadelphia has been found shot in the face, six months after she vanished.
Alezauna Carter, known to family and friends as Libby, vanished in October 2020.
In April, police found the body of an unidentified young girl, shot in the mouth, in an apartment less than 20 miles away from where Libby was last seen.
They had been called to the scene by someone who heard gunshots.

Now, her family are demanding answers. Police are yet to arrest anyone but, last month, they released surveillance footage of the suspect in the shooting.
When she vanished, police said Libby had run away from her family in the past.
They did not state whether or not she'd run away this time, or been taken by someone.

It's unclear who that person was in relation to Libby, or why police thought she was with them.
'This is a child that’s walking around in the street. We don’t know what happened, but we are going to find out,' her aunt said at the time.
The girl's family held a vigil for her in South Philadelphia on Wednesday after being notified of her death.
Her mother Trish said at the event: 'She was a strong girl, but she didn’t deserve this. Not at all.'
