FEMAIL reveals the '00s celeb fragrances still riding high today - so which one was YOUR favourite?

Britney Spears' collection of Fantasy perfumes have been best sellers since launching, but thanks to the airing of Framing Britney Spears earlier this month, all her fragrances have seen a huge surge in popularity.

The Perfume Shop revealed sales of Britney's perfumes in the UK are up 439 per cent following the documentary, presented by the New York Times, which focused on the singer's controversial court-sanctioned conservatorship overseen by her father, Jamie Spears.

Since launching in 2005, Britney's Fantasy collection has been a favourite among Brits, only being knocked off the top of the celebrity fragrance chart late last year by Sarah Jessica Parker's Lovely following the news of a Sex and the City reboot.

But it's not just Britney's much-loved fragrances from the early days of her career that are still fan favourites.

From Jennifer Lopez’s perfumes Live and Glow, to Purr by Katy Perry, there are several celebrity favourites from the noughties and early 2010s that we just can’t seem to get enough of still.

Andrea Rickard, Trading Director at The Perfume Shop said: 'Britney's fragrances have been customer bestsellers consistently for the last 15 years, a sales increase of 439 per cent compared to this time last year is certainly evidence that the public are still supporting Britney after seeing the new documentary.'

Online retailer, Fragrance Direct’s expert, Mia Gardner added: ‘We’ve definitely had a surge of interest in Britney Spears fragrances this month, with five of her most iconic scents peaking in sales.

‘Scents from the Fantasy collection have been amongst our best sellers, seeing an uplift of up to 335 per cent in comparison to February 2019. We’ve also seen a 48 per cent sales increase for the fragrance, Believe, which could be a sign that fans are showing their support to Britney, after watching the new documentary.’

Here, FEMAIL reveals the noughties celebrity fragrances still riding high today...

1. Lovely by Sarah Jessica Parker (2005)

Sex and the City fever has officially returned since Sarah Jessica Parker confirmed the show's reboot is happening in an Instagram post earlier this year. And the announcement is already having an effect on sales of the actress' iconic Lovely perfume. Fifteen years after launching, the now cult fragrance is still topping the bestseller charts at The Perfume Shop when it comes to celebrity fragrances, knocking Britney Spears off the top spot last year and selling more than double the number of units than any other offering in the celebrity category

2. Fantasy by Britney Spears (2004)

Britney Spears' collection of Fantasy perfumes have been best sellers since launching, but thanks to the airing of the recent documentary on the pop princess they've seen a surge in popularity. Since launching in 2005, Fantasy has been a favourite among customers, only being knocked off the top of the celebrity fragrance chart late last year. For this perfume, buyers should expect an enticing mix of fruity notes, including red lychee, golden quince and exotic kiwi

3. Beyoncé Heat (2010)

Heat, which comes packaged in a red triangular bottle, is a floral perfume for women with notes of magnolia, red vanilla orchard, peach, musk and amber. Despite first launching 11 years ago, the singing sensation's fragrance has remained popular amongst her loyal fans, largely thanks to its timeless and sleek look. Even now, the product scores an impressive four and a half stars out of five on The Perfume Shop website

4. Reb'l Fleur by Rihanna (2011)

Joining celebrities such as Katy Perry and Britney Spears, Rihanna was one of the last few celebrities of the noughties to jump on the fragrance bandwagon. Reb'l Fleur is a fragrance that is said to be 'daring, sexy and truly memorable'. Upon its release in 2011, the description online said the eau de toilette is 'as much in tune with Barbados-born Rihanna's roots as it is with the glamour of her present life in New York City'. Following its launch, there was plenty of praise for the unique bottle, which was shaped in the style of a high heel

5. Live by Jennifer Lopez (2005)

For the Christmas season of 2005, Jennifer Lopez launched Live. More than a decade later, the vibrant bottled perfume is still a favourite with Brits, regularly appearing in the Best Sellers lists on fragrance shop sites. The A-lister has a staggering 31 perfumes in her business empire. The earliest edition was created in 2002 and the newest is from 2020. Notes of both vanilla and pineapple are thought to be present in the Live fragrance

6. Controversial by Jade Goody (2008)

Controversial was launched by Jade Goody in 2008. It is a fruity and sweet perfume for women, which boasts floral elements to make it 'feminine and fresh', according to its description online. It features a number of notes such as red berries, tiare blossom, frangipani and amber amongst others. With a simple clear glass bottle filled with orange liquid, the perfume was made for everyday wear and has proved to still be popular in recent times. Late British TV personality Jade Goody died of cervical cancer aged 27 in 2009

7. Christina Aguilera (2007)

Christina Aguilera has helped create 18 perfumes, each boasting feminine, elegant and eye-catching bottles as well as fruity flavours thought to be perfect for the younger woman. However, it's the Genie In A Bottle singer's 2007 namesake fragrance which has really stood the test of time. The sophisticated product consistently stays towards the top of bestseller lists for celebrity perfumes on fragrance websites. Perhaps it's no surprise that it remains a firm favourite, since it was the number one perfume in the UK the year it was released

8. Purr by Katy Perry (2010)

While she's known to wear unique, attention-stealing outfits, Katy Perry's fragrances are just as eye-catching. Her first perfume, Purr, released in 2010, featured a bottle style in the shape of a feline, complete with dazzling eyes. While the perfume doesn't appear to be as popular as the singer's newer fragrances, it hasn't lost its sparkle and still seems to be keeping up with the rest of the noughties perfumes thanks to its loyal fans. Katy has 10 perfumes and the newest edition was created in 2018

9. Curious by Britney Spears (2004)

Britney's debut fragrance was Curious (pictured above) which showcased a fun, friendly and playful perfume in a diamond-like bottle, with shimmering aspects and two tiny hearts included on a silver chain. Each of her perfumes - with 31 different styles being produced by the popular hitmaker - boast a fruity tropical odour. Despite her dwindling appearance in the top 10, Britney's fragrances have reportedly been raking in hundreds of millions of dollars over the last 17 years

10. Believe by Britney Spears (2007)

Featuring both fruity and floral elements, Believe by Britney Spears is a sweet fragrance made up of guava and tangerine top notes, heart notes of honeysuckle and linden blossom and base notes of patchouli, amber and praline. It was released by Britney in 2007, and while it hasn't enjoyed as much success as the singer's Fantasy range of fragrances, it currently remains amongst celebrity perfume best sellers

11. Glow by Jennifer Lopez (2002)

Jennifer Lopez's Glow, released in 2002, was a turning point for celebrities - inspiring hundreds of famous faces to get in on the act after seeing how fruitful it appeared to be for the singer. Created by Louise Turner and Catherine Walsh, it includes smells of orange blossom, grapefruit, jasmine, rose, sandalwood, vanilla and amber. Despite first being released almost 20 years ago, the perfume is still on sale today and keeping a healthy spot amongst the celebrity perfume best sellers
