The awards were hosted by Billy Porter, celebrating the most creative and innovative design talent from Britain and around the world. 

One of the first stars to walk the carpet on Monday was TikTok sensation Addison Rae, who beamed at the event and donned a beautiful pale pink and black satin gown. Shanina Shaik stunned in a jewelled gown, while model Georgia May Jagger flashed her toned midriff and kept warm beneath patterned tights.

The Independent British Brand award went to Simone Rocha and the Special Recognition Award for Culture Commentary was given to Dylan Jones by Kano and Patrice Evra.

Priyanka dished out the Leaders of Change awards, which saw 15 designers, brands, creatives, and individuals awarded for the positive change the have brought about within the fashion industry this past year. The three categories were: Environment, People and Creativity.

The most coveted award of the night - the Outstanding Achievement Award - was handed to Tommy Hilfiger by Kris Jenner and Law Roach and marked with a performance from Charli XCX alongside a fashion show.

Supermodel Naomi Campbell was also on hand to celebrate Hilfiger's win.

Elsewhere, the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator - presented by Adut Akech and Alton Mason - went to IB Kamara and Alessandro Michele won the Trailblazer Award for Gucci, which was presented by Sinead Burke.

Although having no formal training as a designer, he learned from his mother who was a seamstress.

On the day he graduated from engineering school in 2003, Virgil met Kanye West and went on to meet his then-manager John Monopoly. He became a member of his creative team soon after.

Abloh began his fashion career in 2009 when he interned for Fendi in Rome, Italy, alongside West, Vogue reported.

The pair became fast friends and collaborators, and in 2010 Abloh was named creative director of West's creative content agency Donda.

News of his death sent shockwaves rippling through social media, where celebrities and fans expressed shock and offered condolences.
