Airport duty-free products set to be sold online including GoPro cameras, Airpods and iPhones

Coronavirus saw the end of duty-free shopping when airports were closed - but now a million dollars worth of products are available online, just in time for Christmas.

GoPro cameras, iPhones, iPads, AirPods, TVs, FitBits, and more are being auctioned off, with bidding starting at just $10.

Other products just waiting to be put under the Christmas tree include drones, bicycles, speakers, and chocolate for those with a sweet tooth.

Michael Hayes, chief operating office of Hilco Global, which is running the auction, said there would be huge Christmas bargains for savvy shoppers.

Michael Hayes, chief operating officer of Hilco Global, which is running the auction, said there would be huge Christmas bargains for savvy shoppers.

'The duty-free stores are stuck with products that are six months old because no-one has been able to walk through airports with Covid restrictions in place,' he told 7NEWS.

'There will be a lot of bargains, there are thousands of items to bid on.'

The online auction, which began on Wednesday, runs for four days online. All users will need to register at the website before purchasing products.

Hilco Global ran a similar auction in October after discovering appliances shipped from Thailand couldn't be sold in department stores once beetles were found in a number of containers.

All the items were inspected and cleared by the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment before being sold at bargain prices in Australia.

Goods from popular brands like Apple, Sony, Samsung, Canon, Bosch and KitchenAid were snapped up within 24 hours.

The website has been highly utilised since Wednesday. Demand has actually seen it crash on multiple occasions, such has been the frenzy for bargains from savvy shoppers online.

Other items up for grabs include iPhones, iPads, AirPods as well as speakers (pictured above)
