LAJ’s first day in High Court

Popular Sierra Leonean hip hop star, Amadu Bah alias LAJ, has made his first appearance before Justice Adran Fisher at the Freetown High Court after he was committed for criminal trial by the lower court.

Alhaji Amadu Bah was arrested on June 12, 2022, on allegations of robbery with violence at Leonco Filling Station, Congo Cross in Freetown.

He made 14 appearances at the Magistrate Court before he was committed to the High Court.

LAJ was before the court to answer to three (3) counts of robbery with violence contrary to Section 23 (1) (b) of the Larceny Act, 1916 as repealed and replaced by Section 2 of Act No.16 of 1971 and one (1),assault occasioning actual bodily harm contrary to Section 47 of the Offences Against the Person’s Act of 1861.

It was alleged that, the accused on  June 12, 2022, at Leonco Filling  Station, Water Street, Congo Cross, Main Motor Road in Freetown, robbed Francess Wilson, Ishmael Kamara and Christina Koroma and assaulted Musa Mansaray.

In the High Court on Friday, the state lawyer,Yusuf Isaac Sesay, made an application for the court to grant him to add additional charges to the previous three count charges.

Lawyer Pa Momoh Fofanah representing the accused applied for bail on behalf of his client, Alhaji Amadu Bah alias LAJ, but Justice Adrain Fisher turned down the bail application.
