Tropical Storm Mulan & LPA to Bring Rains Over Parts of PH

PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Wednesday (August 10)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that Tropical Storm Mulan and a low-pressure area will bring rains over some parts of the country.

On Wednesday (August 10, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Tropical Storm Mulan and a low-pressure area will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA reported that Tropical Storm Mulan has been last spotted 80 kilometers west of northern Luzon. It has maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour and gustiness of 80 kph.

Mulan has a slim chance of entering the Philippine Area of Responsibility but it will enhance the southwest monsoon in the northwestern section of the country, according to Pagasa weather specialist Grace Castañeda.

“Ayon sa ating latest analysis ay mas mababa na ang chances nito na pumasok sa loob ng PAR ngunit patuloy nitong ine-enhance yung southwest monsoon o habagat na patuloy namang nakaka-apekto sa western section ng Luzon. Ineexpect natin ngayong araw na magduduloy pa rin ito ng pag ulan sa ilang bahagi ng Luzon,” Castañeda said.

The enhanced habagat will bring cloudy weather conditions with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Ilocos Region, Zambales, Bataan, and Kalayaan Islands.

The Southwest Monsoon/Localized Thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over the rest of Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, and the whole Visayas.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience similar weather conditions.

The weather agency has also warned the public of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms and due to moderate to at times heavy rains, according to the weather agency.
