Palace Speaks on Possible Extension of State of Calamity in Philippines amid Pandemic

STATE OF CALAMITY PHILIPPINES – Malacañang revealed the decision of President Bongbong Marcos regarding the declaration.

More than two (2) years ago, a pandemic that greatly affected several countries across the globe took place. The COVID-19 spread fast across nations and the Philippines is one of those that recorded cases of the disease.

To boost the fight against the pandemic, the national government declared a State of Calamity in the Philippines. It will give people access to loans and the local government units will be also given permits to use their funds in the fight against the pandemic. The declaration is set to expire on September 12, 2022.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Malacañang recently revealed that the decision on the fate of the State of Calamity declaration in the country will depend on the recommendation of the Department of Health (DOH). It is the call made by Pres. Marcos.

Pag-IBIG Calamity Loan Online Application, What You Need To Know

PAG-IBIG CALAMITY LOAN – Amid the Coronavirus crisis in the Philippines, Pag-IBIG allowed its members to apply for a loan online.

Due to the lockdown in Luzon, hundreds of workers have lost their income. Additionally, businesses have been closed and workers struggle as the virus continued its spread.

Luckily, PAG-IBIG announced on their official Facebook page that they are allowing the Calamity Loan and the Multi-Purpose Loan Program (MPL) to be applied online.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Not all members have access to printers, along with this, shops have closed due to the lockdown. Luckily, Pag-IBIG made loan forms fillable online.

  1. Fill-out the online form
  2. After completing the form, save it as a PDF file.
  3. Following this, send the PDF file via email to your companies Human Resources (HR) or fund coordinator.

Applicants are required to send the files to employers as an application agreement in the form is needed to be signed.

REQUIREMENTS

Those eligible to apply are residents living in areas declared by the President as under a state of calamity. Furthermore, here are the required documents:

  • Completed Pag-IBIG Calamity Loan or MPL form
  • One (1) valid I.D. (Front and Back)
  • Loyalty Card Plus (Front and Back)
  • LandBank or DBP Cashcard
  • At least twenty-four (24) monthly membership savings or contributions
  • Sufficient proof of income

HOW TO KNOW IF LOAN WAS APPROVED?

Members who applied online will receive a text message showing confirmation of their loan. Moreover, members with confirmed loans will be informed whether the loan is credited in their Loyalty Card Plus, Landbank or DBP Cashcard.

HOW MUCH CAN YOU BORROW?

Members can receive up to 80% of their total Pag-IBIG Regular Savings. It usually includes:

  1. Employee’s monthly contributions
  2. Employer’s contributions
  3. Accumulated dividends earned

Moreover, applicants may apply for the calamity loan online within 90 days from the declaration of a State of Calamity.
