Darna Jane De Leon has this reply to the bashers of her chance to become “Darna”.
“Mars Ravelo’s Darna: The TV Series” will be top-billed by Jane De Leon along with Joshua Garcia as Darna’s love interest and Janella Salvador as Valentina.
Former Darna Vilma Santos gives her approval to Jane being the new Darna and even told her to become an inspiration to other people. Accordingly, the role isn’t just a mere role because it comes with a responsibility.
“Ngayon, Jane, na sa ‘yo ang bato. Pangalagan mo iyang mabuti. Maging ehemplo ka ng henerasyon ngayon. I wish you all good luck. Nandito lang ako to support you,” says the Star For All Seasons.
And amid the support and inspiring and encouraging messages from the people who love her, there are people who are not a fan of hers. She received negative comments from them including their doubts about her being really deserving of the iconic role formerly played by A-list actresses.
At first, she was accordingly affected. The painful words get into her mind and she can’t handle the bashing. But over time, she learned the art of filtering these negativities out. The comments made her wonder what she did to be able to snatch the role but one thing she is sure about, she went underwent a process.
“Hindi ko rin alam kung bakit ako ang napili. Basta ako, ibinigay ko lang ang best ko and nag-audition ako. Dumaan talaga ako sa proseso and pinaghirapan ko yun,” she said based on a report from PEP.
