‘Dream Team’: ABS-CBN, TV5 Deal, Sen. Raffy Tulfo Sees No Issue
Dream Team – ABS-CBN and TV5 merger is publicly announced by the two media giants in country, many critics were not favor in this deal, but Sen. Raffy Tulfo expressed his support and sees no issue.
Senator Raffy Tulfo a former broadcaster believed, that the viewing public will benefit with the partnership of ABS-CBN and TV5.
He also emphasized that this partnership will deliver to the viewers quality content that will entertain them.
This statement of the Senator contradicts, to Sagip Party-list Rep. Rodante Marcoleta who believed that the partnership must be reviewed of the congress.
The ABS-CBN and TV5 signed a partnership deal last August 11, elevating the block time of the Kapamilya Network to an agreement partnership in Kapatid Network.
According to ABS-CBN News, Sen. Tulfo has not seen any violation in accordance with the law in the partnership deal.
“Kung merong violation, then it’s a different story, it’s a different ballgame. Pero kung wala tayong makikitang mali at okay lang ‘yung merger ng ABS-CBN at TV5, so let it be,”. According to Senator Tulfo.
[Translation” “If there is a violation, then it’s a different story, it’s a different ballgame. But if we don’t see anything wrong and the merger of ABS-CBN and TV5 is okay, so let it be,”.]
The lawmaker himself will give his full support with the partnership base from his experience as broadcaster which according to him hew know the business in media industry.
On the other hand, in the lower house, the house committee on legislative Franchises will set a briefing on Thursday on the team-up deal of ABS-CBN and TV5.
This is with the relation of Rep. Marcoleta who publicly denounce the partnership of the two network and ask the congress to conduct an investigation in this issue.
In a report, Marcoleta, played a leading and vocal part in the rejection of the francise renewal of ABS-CBN in 2020.
