President-elect Bongbong Marcos Submits SOCE Revealing Total Elections 2022 Campaign Expenses
BONGBONG MARCOS – The President-elect submitted his SOCE revealing his total spending during the Elections 2022 campaign.
The Elections 2022 is over and the results made former Senator Bongbong Marcos the elected president. He is set to sit as the 17th President of the Republic of the Philippines at noon time of June 30. He has a landslide victory after garnering more than 31 million votes.
Marcos Jr. undeniably has the most controversial bid. Several petitions seeking to cancel his candidacy or disqualify him from the presidential race were filed before the Commission on Elections (Comelec). His presidential candidacy triggered the issues surrounding the alleged ill-gotten wealth of their family, his tax charges, and Martial Law.
Comelec junked all the petitions against Marcos Jr. During the joint session of the House and the Senate at the House of Representatives, he was declared the elected president of the country.
After the election, all candidates whether losing or winning must submit the data about their spending during the campaign. They are bound to abide by the limit set based on the population of voters.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, president-elect Bongbong Marcos has submitted his Statements of Contribution and Expenditures or SOCE reflecting the contributions received and the spending made during the Elections 2022 campaign.
According to the report, president-elect Bongbong Marcos has received a total contribution of P624,684,320.09. He received in-kind contributions from a political party and both cash and in-kind contributions from other sources. With regards to his total spending during the campaign period, the president-elect declared they spent P623,434,320.09.
According to Marcos Jr., he has not used his personal funds or resources during the campaign. P371,795,856.59 of his total campaign spending are expenditures paid out of cash contributions while the remaining part are expenditures incurred using the in-kind contributions.
