HINDI lamang sa pagiging matagumpay na volleyball player umaariba ang dating University of the Philippines (UP) Lady Maroons team captain at dating professional athlete na si Katherine Adrielle Bersola kundi maging sa paghakot ng parangal pagdating sa pag-aaral sa medical school.
Hinirang na summa cum laude ang 26-anyos na dating Best Middle Blocker ng Shakey’s V-League at Premier Volleyball League sa kursong Sports Science noong 2017 sa UP Diliman, habang nasundan ito ng panibagong karangalan sa pagtatapos sa medical school bilang cum laude sa parehong unibersidad kamakailan.
“Thank you for the unforgettable 5 years, Diliman. 😌 Now let’s see if the next 5(+) years in Manila can top it,” wika ng 5-foot-11 standout sa kanyang Facebook account na minsan ring naglaro sa koponang BanKo Perlas Spikers sa PVL.
“Special thanks to the UP Women’s Volleyball Team and the UP Pre-Medical Society. College would’ve been hell without you. You’ll always have a special place in my heart.”
Buong-puso rin nitong pinasalamatang higit ang kanyang mga magulang sa pangarap nitong maging kauna-unahang doktor sa kanilang pamilya na minsang ginawarang Best Middle Blocker noong Season 76 ng University Athletic Association of the Philippines.
“To be the first doctor in our family is an honor. Hindi man kayo nasa medical field, but the values you have instilled in me as a servant leader in your professions and your communities inspired the kind of doctor I dream of becoming. I hope to continue in making you proud. This, along with every achievement I have gotten in life, is for you. Maraming Salamat at mahal ko kayo.
