VIENTIANE, May 8 (Xinhua) -- Laos' export of agricultural produce in the first three months of 2023 reached over 3 million tons, worth more than 507 million U.S. dollars, surpassing 50 percent of the target for the whole year, Vientiane Mai newspaper reported on Monday.

Laos exported a total of 3,032,517 tons of plant products in the first three months of 2023, with a total value of 507,644,615 U.S. dollars, equaling 56.40 percent of the target for 2023, and rose 5 percent compared with the same period last year, the report quoted Bounchan Kombounyasith, director general of Department of Agriculture under Lao Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry as saying.
