At this point of the year, you've probably seen a number of photos cropping up on social media of people doing Elf On The Shelf.
For those who don't know, Elf On The Shelf sees one of Santa's little helpers hide in the home to keep a sneaky eye on the children, so they can determine whether they belong on the naughty or nice list.
Each day, parents are meant to hide the Elf in a different place and this often involves setting up a prank for their kids.
Some of the pranks can get pretty elaborate, with one mum shaving the word 'elf' into her son's hair and a man covering his entire kitchen, including the eggs and utensils, in wrapping paper.
But a recent Elf On The Shelf idea has taken the festive fun to a very, very dark place.
A woman named Shannon Renee shared a photo on Facebook of what appears to be chicken wing bones, arranged to look like a human body on a plate.
The bones are topped with a cute little Santa hat, like the one Elf On The Shelf wears.
Beside this, a knife and fork have been placed on the plate, which also has some grease smeared on it, making it look like someone has just polished off the poor little Elf for dinner.
Shannon captioned the post: "Someone please do this and record the kids when they find it."
Her post went viral, with many thinking it was a hilarious idea. One person even branded Shannon a "hero" for suggesting it.
"I'm dying laughing," wrote one person.
Another said: "I'm gonna get one just to do this."
A third added: "I'll do it in the morning. GOOD ONE."
However not everyone was impressed with others thinking she'd taken the joke a bit too far.
"You are mean, that would scar the kids for life," replied someone else.
"Poor Elf! Don't let the kids see that," commented a fifth.
A different user said it would give children "nightmares".
