A woman rebelled against her strict Catholic upbringing by becoming a "splosher" who loves smothering herself in cake, cream and piuddings.

When Mia Cid buys a cake she has no intention of eating it - instead she wants to squish it into her hair, push her face into the icing and smother it all over her clothes.

She has built up a loyal Instagram following for saucy photoshoots that see her getting very messy with her favourite foods.

Mia, 23, who works as a barista, said it started with "weird impulses" while shaving her legs at the age of eleven.

She said: "I really enjoyed the feeling of the shave foam and I thought ‘I want this everywhere.’

“If my parents went out I would lock myself in the bathroom and fill up the tub with shave foam and just wriggle around in it for ages.”

During her teenage years Mia began secretly experimenting with other substances.

She said: "I used to take whipped cream, chocolate milk, ice cream and puddings from the kitchen and smear them all over myself in the tub...if my mum was out.

“Mum would always ask ‘what happened to all the whipped cream?’ And I would play it off as if I just had a really sweet tooth or something."

Mia, who was raised in a strict Catholic household, says she became increasingly ashamed of her unusual pastime and it became a guilty secret.

She began stealing cakes so she could smother them on her body, then had to clean up the mess.

Mia continued to indulge herself in secret until she was 21, when she stumbled across the Instagram page of someone with the same interests.

She said: “I felt instant relief and happiness, I felt like I could breathe.

“In the environment that I grew up, I felt like a weirdo for even having a sexual drive.

“I was sent to etiquette school as a kid, which was all ‘sit up straight, pull up your socks, always be clean’ and I was always thinking ‘just let me play in the dirt.’

“It’s probably a form of rebellion."

Now Mia, who lives in California, is an ‘out and proud’ slosher and she even models for sloshing photoshoots under the stage name Lumlum.

She spends between $50 and $100 per week on cakes, creams, puddings, foams and syrups to smear on her body."

She still loves shaving foam, and these days buys it in bulk.

Although completely open about her sloshing, she is yet to find a partner who shares her interests.

She said: "My last boyfriend was very supportive of my sloshing but he didn’t want to get messy himself, he’d just watch me do it, and maybe buy me some supplies to help out.

“Now I want to find a partner who is willing to slosh with me for the long term.”
