The 38-year-old collided with a red Peugeot and then the taxi - crushing Ms Prentice between them.

After the crash, Kara had to have both of her legs amputated and required lifelong care in even the simplest of tasks.

She died on June 4, 2021.

Her mum, Maria Bruce, said they had lost a "big part of the family" and were devastated by her death.

She told the ECHO : "I would just like to thank all the people that sent cards to Kara and most of all, my close friends and family.

"Without them being by my side we would not have held it together so to them I can never thank them enough.

"The whole family is devastated. Kara put up such a fight right till the end, your cards brought a smile to her face so thank you all so so much."

On Facebook Connor Kona said: "Can't believe I'm writing this, you wasn't just a friend or my drinking buddy you were the older sister I never had and I will forever be grateful for the memories we share!
